Product Spotlight: ASV ST-50 Utility Vehicle

The ASV ST-50 rubber tracked utility vehicle is the ideal machine on the jobsite, working your ranch, grooming trails or anything else that needs to be done.

Like the track loaders from ASV, the 50 horsepower (37.3 kW) ST-50 uses proven patented technology that has been the Minnesota-based company’s trademark for the last 25 years. The ST-50’s suspended undercarriage gives it the traction and the flotation to go just about anywhere, and with four torsion axels suspending the undercarriage, the ride is exceptionally smooth for a tracked machine.

The ST-50’s unique undercarriage uses 24 rubber idler wheels that spread the machine’s weight over the entire length and width of its tracks. As a result, the machine’s 4,562 lbs (2069 kg) operating weight is distributed down to only 2.38 lbs. per square inch (16.4 kPa) of ground pressure. That is about half the ground pressure of a person on foot. With such low ground pressure the ST-50can work productively in soft or wet ground conditions which are impenetrable by conventional wheeled utility vehicles. This makes the ST-50 the ideal machine for contractors and companies that need to be productive all year around regardless of weather and ground conditions.

Not only can the ST-50 take operators where other utility vehicles cannot go, but it can take go farther. With a 30-gallon fuel capacity, the ST-50runs all day and then some. The ST-50’s towing and hauling capacity will let operators bring all the materials needed for the job. The rear deck is designed to haul whatever is necessary including an optional hydraulic dump box or a four-person personnel carrier. The deck can accommodate a large amount of heavy cargo and a wide range of attachments from other manufacturers.

Unlike other tracked vehicles the ST-50uses a steering wheel for effortless and precise control. A unique Quick Shift pedal provides fast and accurate control of the machines forward/reverse hydrostatic drive system. A certified Roll Over Protection Structure (ROPS) is standard. Hydrostatic two-speed drive lets operators choose high torque for pulling and hauling, or high speed for faster travel. A console-mounted joystick allows precise control of options like the dump box and snow blade.

The ST-50 is designed to have a 5,000 lb. (2268 kg) towing capacity which is significantly larger than any other wheeled utility vehicle on the market. This hauling capacity is due to a combination of special design features, heavy-duty torsion axels, rugged frame, weight distribution and ASV undercarriage technology. The new ST-50 has been updated with a more industrial front and rear hitch for any towing and hauling need.

Product Spotlight: Kubota KX121-3 w/ 6-in-1 Blade

The latest in Kubota’s 2009 lineup is the KX121-3 Super Series compact excavator with optional 6-in-1 hydraulic blade. The new blade is the first on the market with extended tilt functions, allowing the blade to be angled 25 degrees and tilted 10 degrees for greater efficiency when leveling and backfilling. The blade’s float feature puts the finishing touch on backfill projects. Kubota’s KX121-3 Super Series is ideal for rental users, contractors and landscapers.

“Our angle blades have been popular for years, and now Kubota is the first tractor manufacturer to offer a 6-in-1 blade in the compact excavator category,” says Keith Rohrbacker, Kubota product manager. “This new blade includes angle, tilt and float functions, making it more efficient than a traditional angle blade.”

KX121-3 Super Series: The Ultimate Digging Machine
Kubota’s powerful and versatile KX121-3 Super Series compact excavator combines smooth operation, reliability, large-bucket capacity and long reach. The KX121-3 is equipped with a four-cylinder,

40.5-horsepower diesel engine, and features a performance-enhancing, load-sensing hydraulic system that provides optimum oil flow to each cylinder, making operation under any load easier and smoother. With a choice between Kubota’s hydraulic Float Angle Blade or the new hydraulic 6-in-1 blade, leveling and backfilling work is finished quickly and easily.

6-in-1 Blade: Easy Operation, Higher Productivity
Kubota engineered the 6-in-1 blade for easy operation. As an additional enhancement, Kubota added a “T” button on top of the blade’s operating lever to control the new tilt function, so the same motion that operates the angle blade will maneuver the tilt blade. The 6-in-1 blade features an offset indicator which highlights angle and tilt, so the operator can easily judge the blade position at all times.

The KX121-3’s new 6-in-1 blade is also wider for increased capacity and productivity. The new wider blade is five feet, 11 inches wide and extends two inches past the KX121-3’s tracks on each side, increasing the blade’s capacity by eight percent. The blade’s wide design keeps soil out of the space between the blade and the tracks and allows operators to better shape edges and complete slopes. The KX121-3 with 6-in-1 blade will boost productivity in a range of excavating projects.

We just got the KX121-3 with 6-in-1 blade in stock today! If you’re in the area, take a drive by our store to see these innovative new machines on display. Contact Abele Tractor & Equipment Co. at 72 Everett Road, Albany, NY 12205, 518-438-4444, or sales@abeletractor.com.
